POTENZA – The last meeting in chronological order of the project “Participation and Recreation through Inclusive Martial Arts Education and E-Learning” (acronym “PRIMAE”) was held in the last few days in Potenza (exactly November 28 and 29) , approved by the Erasmus Plus National Agency in the UK under the Erasmus Plus program KA2 Strategic Partnerships for Adult Education as Action n.2019-1-UK01-KA204-061975.

The European initiative, coordinated by Ikkaido Ltd (a charity based in Oxford), is developing the first platform to provide online education and training in the martial arts sector, providing an accessible e-learning tool to promote the inclusion of people with disabilities.

At the meeting in Potenza, hosted by the EURO-NET association (Europe Direct Basilicata center), about twenty participants participated in the presence of the delegations of the partners Ikkaido Ltd (UK), Areadne Oe (Greece), Futuro Digitale (Italy), Ikkaido Inclusive Martial Arts (Ireland), Stockholm Vastra Idrottsforening For Funktionsnedsatta (Sweden), University Of Cyprus (Cyprus) and Aux Couleurs Du Deba (France).

” The project – said Antonino Imbesi, project manager on behalf of EURO-NET – is aimed at developing an innovative training curriculum that will include modules that will range from martial arts coaching for adults and children to the use of drugs in sport, from ‘disability approach to the protection and inclusion of vulnerable children and adults. The meeting served to clarify the future steps to be completed by next February 2022, when the strategic partnership initiative should end (except for possible extensions linked to the persistence of the pandemic). “

The meeting for reasons related to the attempt to reduce the chances of contagion was held at the innovation space of the GODESK coworking in via della Tecnica 18 in Potenza, where it was possible to guarantee total compliance with the distances provided for by the legislation.
